Serving India's Blood Network

A connected way to get blood where India needs it.

RedHalo BBMS runs the blood bank. The RedHalo Mobile App runs the donor side. One connected platform, built around how Indian blood banks are actually regulated and run — so less blood is lost to paperwork, and more of it reaches the people who need it.

The Problem We Exist To Solve

Enough blood exists. It isn't always where — or when — it's needed.

The shortfall isn't only about donors. It's about visibility: knowing what's in stock, where, and whether it will still be usable in time.

India collected 1.46 crore units of blood in 2024–25, 15% more than the year before, and the government reports that this now meets national demand. But that requirement figure comes from a 2018 study built on the 2017 population, so real need is likely higher. And collecting blood is only half of it: patients still wait because it isn't in the right place, or it expires before anyone can use it.

Supply

Access

Access

Demand

Wastage
17.4 lakh

blood components discarded in 2025, a record collection year. Expiry was the biggest reason.

The Wastage Paradox

Blood discarded while patients wait.

Collection rose from 1.27 crore units in 2023 to a record 1.57 crore in 2025. Over the same two years, reported discards more than doubled, from about 8 lakh to 17.4 lakh blood components.

Some of that is unavoidable: platelets last about five days. But expiry topping the list points to blood being collected in one place and needed in another, with no shared view of stock to move it in time.

This is the gap RedHalo's traceability and inventory tools are built to close. Figures: collection and requirement from a government reply in Parliament, and the share of blood banks that rarely update the national platform, via the Observer Research Foundation (Oct 2025), with the requirement's origin from IndiaSpend (Feb 2026); supply and access in eight northern states (Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh) from BMJ Global Health (Oct 2024); collection and discards from e-Raktkosh data tabled in the Rajya Sabha (Unstarred Question 1882, 4 Aug 2026), summarised by Factly; Drishti IAS on India's thalassemia burden.

One Platform, Two Products

The blood bank's system and the donor's app, built to talk to each other.

Most blood banks run software that stops at their own four walls, and most donors use nothing at all. RedHalo is one platform covering both sides — so a shortage on one end and an eligible donor on the other aren't two separate problems anymore.

Vein To Vein

One DIN. Eight stages. Nothing lost in between.

Every unit gets a Donor Identification Number the moment a donor registers, and it stays attached through every downstream step. When an auditor asks where a unit came from and where it went, the answer already exists — nobody has to reconstruct it.

Why RedHalo

Built for how Indian blood banks are actually regulated and run.

Not a generic inventory system with a blood-bank label on it. Every module maps to a rule someone will eventually audit you against.

Compliance built in, not bolted on

NABH BTS, eRaktKosh/NBTC, Drugs & Cosmetics Rules Schedule F, ISBT 128 and the DPDP Act each map to specific modules — so audit prep isn't a separate project.

79 reports ready on day one

Reports & Analytics ships with 79 templates covering statutory, operational and donor reporting. Most blood banks never need to build one from scratch.

Eligibility that computes itself

Donor eligibility comes from a configurable rules table, not a field someone remembers to update — so the donor app and the blood bank never disagree.

Your network, not just your building

RedHalo Connect broadcasts a shortage to partner banks the moment stock drops, and tracks units lent out so nothing goes missing between sites.

Privacy-safe labelling

ISBT 128–compliant labels carry the donor category, never the donor's name — the traceability an auditor wants without exposing who gave what.

Built in Bengaluru, for India

Designed around Indian regulation, Indian camp culture and Indian blood-bank workflows from the first line of code — not localised after the fact.

See it running on your own inventory.

A demo takes about 20 minutes, uses your own unit types and volumes where you can share them, and ends with a straight answer on whether RedHalo fits your blood bank.
